God created us to worship Him. We worship God by seeking to know Him and living our lives in a way that pleases Him. In doing this, we glorify God in all we are and all we do.

Before we can reflect God’s glory, worship Him, or even live the way He wants us to, we must know who God truly is. Oftentimes, the world distorts the truth about God, or our emotions and humans desires cloud our vision of Him. When our image of God is false or distorted, our worship and way of living becomes distorted also, and we cannot truly reflect the glory of God.

So we seek the truth about God. This is not a simple task; God is an infinite Being, incomprehensible to our finite human minds. But, He has given us His Word so that we can know Him. Our image of God must come from what He says about Himself in His Word. We must dig into the Bible so that we can know the truth of who God is and learn how to worship Him.

Let us press on to know the Lord. - Hosea 6:3
For great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised. - Psalm 96:4

We are made to worship, and first we must seek the truth of God. As we come to know God, this truth of who He is should transform our lives.

And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into His likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit. - 2 Corinthians 3:18

Our worship of God is reflected in the way we live: our motivations and actions.

So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God. - 1 Corinthians 10:31

We live a lifestyle of worship that reflects our joy in God. This manifests itself in actions such as prayer, service, missions, and evangelism. All these things bring God glory by revealing Him to others. These actions alone are not sufficient to bring glory to God. Ultimately, worship is about the attitude. We must take joy in seeking God and obeying His commands.

Delight yourself in the Lord. - Psalm 37:4
Serve the Lord with gladness. - Psalm 100:2

Our goal is a life of worship - expressing our joy in God and displaying His glory through our actions that overflow from knowing the truth of who God is.

Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. God is spirit, and His worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth. - John 4:23-24
